Even More Blue Box Cloud in Even More Places

Even More Blue Box Cloud in Even More Places

Every company needs a BHAG: a big, hairy, audacious goal. This is ours:
Private Cloud, Anywhere in the World, in Under an Hour.
And while we realize that yes, that’s swinging for the fence, we’re executing every day on a plan that’s moving us closer to realizing that vision. Here are a few of the milestones along the way to making this BHAG a Big Hairy Audacious Reality:

Bare Metal in Blue Box Cloud Means Better Choices for Customers

Bare Metal in Blue Box Cloud Means Better Choices for Customers

Earlier today we announced new options in our private cloud as a service (PCaaS) that include four new bare metal configurations which support complex hybrid infrastructure. They are now available for delivery into new or existing Blue Box Cloud deployments. In a nutshell, this new offering provides demanding workloads with the bare metal performance and cloud agility they require.

While bare metal offerings are not new in the market, what is new about our offering is that we can seamlessly integrate bare metal servers into a customer’s PCaaS itself based on dedicated hardware for each customer deployment. Enterprises using Blue Box Cloud don’t have to worry about what other tenants are doing—either in the virtualization, container or Bare Metal...

The time is right to put a Blue Box in your Data Center

The time is right to put a Blue Box in your Data Center

It was only 15 months ago that we released Blue Box Cloud -- the market’s first on-demand OpenStack private cloud. When we began development of Blue Box Cloud, we recognized the challenges, difficulty and failure that our on-premises competitors were experiencing and made a conscious decision to launch Blue Box Cloud as a hosted product. Offering Blue Box Cloud in our data centers, on our hardware and operated by our team enabled us to control the greatest number of variables resulting in the best customer experience and ensuring that we could bring to market a production capable OpenStack offering.

Over our 11 year history, Blue Box has developed an operational software platform that allows us to deploy, monitor, manage and upgrade thousands of private clouds across hundreds of data centers with the efficiency and ease of a single cloud. Combined with our operational expertise and proven history with OpenStack, this platform sits underneath our hosted clouds and creates a...

The Top 5 Signs You’ve Outgrown Public Cloud

The Top 5 Signs You’ve Outgrown Public Cloud

I can imagine how this all went down: somewhere along the way, you decided that the convenience, pricing and the ‘magic’ of public cloud was too enticing for your organization to resist, so you jumped on the bandwagon and went for it. Maybe you dove in with both feet. It was probably a great relief once the transition was complete.

And it may have even remained great for a while, but then the game changed and the shine wore off. And like a pair of jeans that shrunk in the wash (or you have, ahem, outgrown), it just didn’t feel right anymore.

Perhaps you’re still hoping to make it work, but before you try to make a square peg fit into a round hole, I recommend you consult the following list.

My top 5...
