ACM ICPC World Finals: Battle of the Brains 2016

ACM ICPC World Finals: Battle of the Brains 2016

I had the amazing opportunity to be part of the IBM sponsorship team at of the 40th Annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Competition (ICPC) World Finals in Phuket, Thailand last month.

I was incredibly impressed by all of this year’s participants who competed from 128 of the university finalist teams to attempt solving 13 really really hard computing / mathematical problems in under five hours. A really big congratulation goes out to this year’s world champions: St. Petersburg State University from Moscow, Russia! You can find out more about the competition...

CF Summit: forging community and technology

CF Summit: forging community and technology

May 25th marked the end of the latest Cloud Foundry Summit in Santa Clara, California. From humble beginnings back in September of 2013 as Platform: The Cloud Foundry Conference, this year brought almost 2,000 people, making it the largest multi-cloud event in North America.

Cloud Foundry adoption is exploding globally, as is Cloud Foundry certification by providers. This year Atos joined the ranks of Pivotal, IBM, SAP, CenturyLink, GE, HPE, Huawei, and swisscom as a Certified Provider, making them the newest to certify their cloud application platform to the now-industry-standard for PaaS. This space is growing in leaps and bounds, and companies are...
